Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is calm over talk of Liverpool eyeing skipper Fabricio Coloccini. Pardew is confident Coloccini, 29, will accept the contract offer on the table with his current one set to expire at the end of next season.

Toon chief Pardew said: "Liverpool like looking at our players, don't they? But I don't want to add any more to that.

"He's been outstanding for us as a captain and a player and we're in negotiations with him on a new contract."
