Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew would like to see Roberto Mancini kept on at Manchester City.

Mancini is under pressure after seeing Manchester United go 15 points clear at the top of the table.

"When you've won the championship, as they did with the last kick of the season, it is difficult to back it up the next year," said Pardew.

"I do hope the manager stays because he will be better for it as well. That experience can help him next season.

"I remember Chelsea winning it one season and not doing so well the next. So it does happen and you have to gain the experience that Manchester United have."
