Newcastle United are watching Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha.
The Evening Chronicle says United boss Alan Pardew and his scouting network are keeping tabs on the teenager, who is at home as a striker or in the hole, as well as being able to operate as a right winger.
As ever, Pardew is keeping his cards close to his chest with transfers, but work has been "ongoing" despite the closure of the transfer window.
United operate a strict policy in not discussing their transfer targets in public, but Pardew's contacts in the game are up there with the best of them, not least at his former club Palace.
