Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew was impressed by Sammy Ameobi in friendly action on the weekend.
Ameobi was fielded as a lone striker for a large part of the 1-0 loss to Chemnizter on Friday night before being joined by his older brother Shola in the closing stages of the narrow defeat in eastern Germany.
Pardew said: "Sammy did really well.
"There were a lot of positives and his performance up top was one of them. We're not too disappointed. It was a good start to pre-season for us and there were no silly tackles or injuries."
