Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew retains hope of Sammy Ameobi proving his value.

The winger is inside the final year of his Toon deal.

"Some players come later than others. We have still got our fingers crossed for Sammy," Pardew said.

"He hasn't really delivered for us but he has had moments. In training and in games recently we have seen more moments and that is encouraging."
