Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is happy to count on Cheick Tiote as his captain.
The Ivory Coast midfielder was handed the armband in the absence of the injured Fabricio Coloccini and will deputise again against Manchester City.
"I'm relieved, he's our captain and playing the best football he's played in 14 months," Pardew said.
"He's been terrific in the last few games, being captain has given him a push.
"I don't want to go in to details, but sometimes an international player comes abroad and doesn't know the rules. We try to help them and push them in the right manner, we'll make sure he gets the right advice going forward.
"It's a misunderstanding. I'm pleased to have him on the pitch, he's an important player."
