Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says they'll be seeking a few more gems in this summer's market.
Pardew fears a top four finish will come too soon for them.
"We're always trying to move forward. We're trying to compete with clubs who have twice our budget, twice our wage bill and have huge investment in their teams," he said.
"We have to try and bridge that gap by sometimes looking a little bit left-field in terms of the transfer market.
"We've managed to pull out a few gems but you've got to back it up. This summer we've got to make sure we get it right otherwise we'll never bridge that gap."
