Newcastle boss Pardew expects massive January market for Premier League

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is expecting a busy January market for all Premier League clubs.

Arsenal's board are going public this week in their vow to back Arsene Wenger. Liverpool are set to back Brendan Rodgers in his quest for a new striker. Queens Park Rangers are also due to splash the cash following the appointment of Harry Redknapp.

Pardew therefore knows the month-long transfer window could be very hectic.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "On our side we look weak with the injuries we have sustained.

"We may need to bring a player in. We will be in the market as a few other clubs will be I am sure.

"We play QPR next week and I am sure they will be busy. There will be some movement.

"For all the Premier League clubs, stability in this particular year is important because of the financial situation."
