Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is keen to see Aston Villa loan signing Stephen Ireland in action.
Ireland arrived with a knee injury, but is raring to go.
"Stephen Ireland has settled in well because there's a good group round him," the United boss told the Evening Chronicle.
"It makes life easier - and Shefki Kuqi has been the same because he has that group around him."
