Newcastle boss Pardew desperate not to lose Chelsea, Arsenal target Tiote

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is desperate not to lose Cheick Tiote in the January market.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with Ivory Coast midfield enforcer Tiote, who leaves for Africa Cup of Nations duty next month.

But Pardew would rather none of his first-team stars left, saying: "We hope to be stronger in January. Ideally, I want to see the squad size increase and no one leave."
