Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits he's delighted with the form of Jonas Gutierrez.
Jonas could wear the captain's armband against Liverpool in the absence of Fabricio Coloccini.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "Jonas Gutierrez was called on to do another job, this time in the centre of midfield.
"He's done very well. We haven't had Cheick Tiote, but we still controlled the game.
"We played some fantastic stuff. There has been a new buoyancy about us."
