Newcastle boss Pardew convinced over quality of his attacking players

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has no doubts over his current strikers.

The Toon boss, under fire after Newcastle failed to recruit a striker since losing top guns Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan, believes his attacking options are underestimated.

Pardew said: "There are question marks against us because we have lost a lot of goals from Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan and a lot of assists from players such as Joey Barton and Jose Enrique.

"But the response from the group has been good. It is a work in progress.

"We are getting new signing Sylvain Marveaux up to speed. Demba Ba has been on Ramadan and he is going to get better.

"And to have a fit Hatem Ben Arfa back with his creative flair gives us a completely new look to our front line."
