Newcastle boss Pardew: Cisse better than Man City's Tevez

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has hailed the attitude of Papiss Cisse.

Pardew has told Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez: I wouldn't swap Cisse for you.

Asked if he would exchange him for Tevez, Pardew said bluntly: "No.''

He added: "They've had a really nice boost with Tevez coming back at the right time. I think he's helped City in the short term.

"But how can you say he's been the difference for them when Yaya Toure has played 40 games or whatever it is, Joe Hart has been the best keeper in the division, Vincent Kompany is the best centre-half in the league and David Silva has produced so many assists? They're a great team.

"We lost four-nil at Wigan last weekend and the two days after that were probably the most important in the last ten weeks. We asked the right questions and came up with the right answers. Everyone was looking for answers - even the masseur!''
