Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says Hatem Ben Arfa could start against Liverpool.

Pardew is hoping Ben Arfa makes an impact against the Reds.

He said: "Everyday he's getting closer.

"He's worked a lot better and we are hopeful he will make an impact.

"Whether he starts or comes off the bench."
