Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear has hinted they'll table Michael Owen an improved contract offer at the end of the season.
"It will be tough to tilt things back in the club's favour but nevertheless, we can only do the best we possibly can and Michael Owen will see that," said Kinnear after the club-record signing put off a decision on a deal that would involve a £25,000-per-week wage cut.
"He will listen to lots of offers at the end of the season and maybe there is a chance that he won't sign. But then maybe we can come in with a big offer."
