Joe Kinnear's heart operation has been successful.

"Joe underwent his operation yesterday and the surgery went to plan," confirmed a Newcastle United insider to the Sunday Sun.

"He's feeling fine and looking forward to making a quick recovery.

"Joe will remain in hospital for another seven to 10 days and will then continue his rehabilitation at home."
