Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear is chasing Portsmouth midfielder Papa Bouba Diop.
The big Senegal international is high on Kinnear's wanted list, but the Toon boss cannot move for the £5 million-rated midfielder until he sells his fringe players.
Kinnear said: "One deal will automatically trigger the next one. So I'm banging on the door hoping that the buying club will make a decision."
