Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear was delighted with the performances of his three new signings in their victory over West Brom.

Kinnear said: "The lads were terrific, and it was a great result for us.

"A lot of people say West Brom defended badly, but that's sour grapes from my point of view.

"We put in a great performance and showed we can attack teams with some of the players we have here.

"I have watched through the highlights a few times now and I'm proud of the lads.

"We scored three goals and I was pleased with Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor, not to mention Peter Lovenkrands.

"I was also delighted to see such camaraderie in the team, and pleased to see that the whole squad showed their appreciation to the fans at the end."
