Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear could be discharged from hospital on Monday after recovering well from his triple heart bypass operation.

Kinnear has been moved out of intensive care but is being kept in a general ward for seven to 10 days before being allowed to return home.

Caretaker boss Chris Hughton told the Evening Chronicle: "I expect to hear from him soon. But we appreciate where he is at the moment."
