Newcastle boss Keegan: We'll beat Chelsea for Man Utd

Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan says they'll do all they can to defeat Chelsea this weekend and hand the title to Manchester United.

He said: "It is our job to help Man United win the title, and that's not easy for me to say.

"Yes, Chelsea are a big club and would be worthy champions as would Man United, but we have a chance now, having put together a run of six or seven games unbeaten, to see how far we've come by playing one of the big four.

"I don't have a preference at all. I just think the best team usually wins it - except the time we lost the title. The best team came second that time."

And for the former England manager, maintaining the integrity of the Barclays Premier League was always important.

He said: "What has come home to me having come back after three years out, is that the Premier League is the most fantastic league in the world for lots of different reasons.

"If we were in Spain now, we would be getting an offer from Manchester United to give us a bonus if we beat Chelsea. Definitely - it's allowed in Spain.

"That can't ever happen in England. If we beat Chelsea, its' because we deserve to."
