Newcastle boss Keegan urging board to go for Dunne

Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan is determined to land Manchester City defender Richard Dunne.

The Sunday Mirror says Keegan presented a list of targets to executive director Dennis Wise last week, with Dunne, 28, top of the list.

But Mike Ashley, who has pledged to run a tight ship, wants to sign younger players with future resale value. And Keegan faces a battle to persuade him Dunne is value for money at £6million.

Keegan will face strong competition because West Ham are also after the former Everton star.
