Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan admits negotiations for Deportivo La Coruna defender Fabricio Coloccini may carry on into tomorrow.
"I haven't got any news but hopefully there might be some news maybe tomorrow or the day after," he said. "I still believe we will probably get two more players, maybe three (before the start of the season), then we'll settle down and work very hard with a quality squad.
"If you look at the players we used tonight and the ones not there, hopefully with two or three additions we'll have a strong squad. We've got to look to finish in the top 10. Anything beyond that we'll take our chance. Come Christmas maybe we can strengthen again."
