Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton says there's no reason to rush his transfer plans this summer.

Even though Hughton has admitted that Newcastle need reinforcements following promotion from the Championship, he will resist the temptation to rush into the transfer market.

"The most important thing is that we bring in the players that we want," Hughton told Radio Newcastle.

"It is not about how quickly we bring them in, it is about bringing in the quality that we need to and by the time we go into this campaign I think we will be where we want to be."
