Newcastle boss Hughton weighs up World Cup scouting trip

Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton is unsure of making a check on transfer targets at the World Cup.

Hughton says he has no immediate plans to return to Africa to catch any World Cup games in person.

The United boss has dispatched scouts to keep an eye on any emerging players but he identified most of his targets long before the tournament kicked off - with the majority on his hit-list understood to be British-based.

"I'm not scheduled to go to South Africa but I'm keeping an open mind on it," he told the Evening Chronicle.
