Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton was delighted for on-loan Manchester United defender Danny Simpson after his goal in victory over Peterborough.
The 22-year-old has shown his versatility and willingness to do a job for the side in a clutch of positions, plugging some of the gaps in a paper-thin squad.
Hughton told the Evening Chronicle: "He's played two or three games at centre-half, and at left-back.
"When you approach him about that, he just wants to play.
"He's a good character to have around, and I'm really pleased for him.
"That goal for him was a great moment and a great reward."
