Allardyce met on Saturday with Dyer to try to find a solution to the problems that inevitably exist after such a sudden turnaround in events.
The Toon manager said: "I've spoken to Kieron and told him, 'That's life'. He has a contract here, he signed that contract and he is employed by us for the length of that contract. He thought he was going, it didn't work out and he just has to get on with it. It's not a hard life, is it? It's pressured, but it's not hard. He has to come back, do his best and move forward.
"If anything else happens in terms of West Ham increasing their offer, great, but if it doesn't, clearly they don't value him as highly as we do."
Allardyce, though, was also quick to condemn those supporters who attacked the player's car and home after last weekend's friendly against Juventus.
He added: "That was totally out of order and nobody should allow that sort of thing to happen, certainly not the parents of the people responsible. But Kieron has to get on with it and get on with playing football because that is what he loves doing and what he is paid to do."
