Newcastle boss: Chelsea fans part of Mourinho exit

Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce believes Chelsea's fans are to blame for Jose Mourinho's demise last week.

He said: "I hope Mourinho leaving wasn't a case of the type of football Chelsea played.

"Winning things is the ultimate, and he won six trophies, including the Premier League title in his first two seasons.

"So if Chelsea's brand of football is a factor in his departure we are in extreme danger as managers - for our health, never mind our livelihoods. Because if we have to start worrying about that as well then you're going to shorten the career, or even the life, of a manager by another five years."

And Big Sam feels that the apathy of Chelsea fans also let down Mourinho. He added: "They have become complacent about winning and ultimately it has been shown in some of their attendances. They'll soon start moaning when they don't keep winning games. And then they'll wonder what's going on. Too late then."
