Newcastle United boss John Carver says Facundo Ferreyra could yet play before the end of the season.

The Argentinean striker has yet to even get off the bench for the Magpies at first team level since joining on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk last August.

Carver told the Evening Chronicle: "He had a good performance the other night.

"He's been out for a long, long time. He will be in the squad this weekend. Facundo is another coming into the group to make it stronger and better."
