Newcastle United boss John Carver has urged fans to be patient with Adam Armstrong.
Carver believes that playing the 18-year-old could amidst the first team's struggles could hamper his career going forward.
He said: "People want Adam Armstrong to play and it's a difficult situation for Adam, because his form in the reserves hasn't been great.
"He hasn't been prolific."
