Newcastle boss Benitez stresses focus for Kenedy to forget Cardiff nightmare

Rafa Benitez says he'll remind Kenedy that he needs to remain focused in order to help Newcastle United this season.

The Brazilian could be suspended for three weeks if the FA decide to take retrospective action after he lashed out at Victor Camarasa during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Cardiff City. The incident could cap off what was a terrible day for Kenedy, in which he missed a penalty and failed to complete a pass in the first-half.

"It will not be good [if he gets a ban] but it is important that he stays focused," Benitez said of Kenedy.

"It is a time when we know everything has changed since last season. We have a lot of players who are the same players as last season, and we need to make sure we start playing at the same level we played at before towards the end of last season.

"We have new additions, we have increased the competition, and what we need to make sure is that every player is focused and ready to give everything for the team. They have to keep pushing every game."
