Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez insists a move for Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina isn't on the agenda.

Newcastle are looking for an experienced keeper and have explored the possibility of signing the 35-year-old, who worked with Benitez at Liverpool and Napoli.

But the £7.5m-rated Spain international is beyond Toon's limited transfer budget, and the manager will continue to scour the loan market.

Benitez revealed: “I have a strong bond with Pepe but we don't have any intention to sign him."
