Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey blanked manager Rafa Benitez after being substituted in their 1-1 draw with Swansea City.

The former Swansea City star shook his head after learning he was coming off and then appeared to refuse to shake hands with Benitez.

After the game, Benitez said: “When you are not winning a game like this one, so important, any player has to be disappointed if they do not continue playing.

“But we have to make the substitutions and that is it.

“I didn't have any problems with what he did."
