Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is pushing to sign Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva and Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney

The Daily Mail says Lucas has been told by boss Jurgen Klopp he can find another club after a decade on Merseyside.

The Liverpool ace is willing to leave in search of regular first-team football.

Newcastle are ready to offer a lucrative two-year deal with an option of a third year to a player among a number of midfield options being weighed up by Benitez ahead of the Magpies' Premier League return.
