Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has said that it was ''good news'' to see English football legend Paul Gascoigne smiling again.
Gascoigne was in attendance to watch and support the Magpies during their recent 2-1 win against Arsenal at St James Park.
A video later went viral online which showed Gazza kicking around a football with his nephew.
While Benitez did not meet with Gazza after the Magpies win, the Spanish manager revealed that he was delighted to hear that the former England international is in good spirits.
He said: "It's important for somebody like him who has been so important in football to settle down off the pitch.
"If everything is fine for him now that's good news. I don't know him personally but I was following him when he was a player. He was a great player."
