Newcastle boss Allardyce ends Gartside feud

Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce has held peace talks with Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside.

The Mirror says Allardyce and Gartside have spoken privately and want to end their war of words, which hit a peak when the sides clashed last weekend.

The Newcastle boss was fuming at Gartside's comments about his "boring" style and the fact that he told a dozen of his guests to stay away from the director's box.

However, Gartside was equally angry that he was being portrayed as the bad guy when he had given the Allardyce group two VIP boxes, costing around £3,000.

Now their public slanging match has been stopped, although there are still disputes over players and staff.
