Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce was furious with Manchester City midfielder Elano, accusing the Brazilian of trying to "do" Abdoulaye Faye during yesterday's defeat.
Big Sam fumed: "The defining moment for us were the decisions of the officials.
"The tackle by Elano on Faye was a straight red. When you are talking about two-footed tackles that is worse.
"He went over the ball with no attempt to play it whatsoever. You can't tell me Elano is a tackling player. He just went to do him."
