Newcastle boss Allardyce: Baheng, Tozer deals proof things are happening

Wesley Ngo Baheng made his Newcastle United reserves debut last night and manager Sam Allardyce pointed to the 18-year-old midfielder's signing from Le Havre as an example of the work he is doing below first-team level.

"We've been waiting for his international clearance to come through, which has been frustrating," he said. "He's another one for the future following the signing of Ben Tozer this week and shows we are looking to strengthen at every level." Monaco have sounded out Manchester City for midfielder Gelson Fernandes.

France Football says Monaco coach Ricardo is a huge fan of Gelson and the Brazilian coach is ready to invest in a player who only left the Swiss league six months ago.
