Newcastle United whizkid Remi Streete is on his way back from ankle surgery.

The defender was sent to London for surgery last season and learned that he would be out for six months.

Now, with much of his rehabilitation behind him, the South Shields youngster is aiming to be back for the second month of what could be a long season.

Streete told the Evening Chronicle: "It has been a long road back.

"But I am looking forward to playing again soon.

"Newcastle made sure I was looked after with the best treatment."
