Newcastle United will be without strikers Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba for tomorrow night's Europa League meeting with Maritimo.
The Magpies head to Madeira to take on the Portuguese club in their group stage opener but will have to face the task without Senegal international Cisse who has been withdrawn due to illness.
His fellow countryman Ba was also omitted from Alan Pardew's squad but the reasons for his absence were unclear despite scoring a match-saving brace in Monday's 2-2 draw with Everton.
