Newcastle United are battling Villarreal for Sporting CP defender Ruben Semedo.
West Ham and West Brom are also keen, though AS says Newcastle are the biggest threat to Villarreal's hopes of signing the Portuguese.
Semedo, 23, has been likened to Manchester United defender Eric Bailly and is seen at Villarreal as a replacement for AC Milan signing Mateo Musacchio.
Newcastle are also keen and willing to offer €14 million for the centre-half.
Semedo's agent, Catio Balde, admits they have several options and insist no final decision has yet been made.
