Athletic Bilbao left back Fernando Amorebieta is being lined up for a move to the Premiership.

Newcastle United chiefs Dennis Wise and Tony Jimenez are working on bringing the versatile defender to Tyneside in the summer.

But they will face competition from Liverpool, where manager Rafa Benitez has also had Amorebieta tracked this season.
