Newcastle United midfielder Haris Vuckic has broken down while on-loan with Wigan Athletic.

Vuckic had to be taken off injured this weekend and left Port Vale's ground in a protective boot.

Vale beat Wigan 3-2 and after Latics boss Gary Caldwell said: “It looks like an ankle injury, how bad it is we're not sure yet."

Vuckic moved to Wigan a fortnight ago.
