Newcastle approach Udinese for goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis

Newcastle United have approached Udinese for goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis.

The Daily Mail says the 32-year-old is available but like most of Newcastle's targets, Udinese want to sell rather than loan.

Rafa Benitez is willing to offload Tim Krul and Karl Darlow to help fund a goalkeeper signing. Krul has been mentioned as a makeweight in a deal for Jeroen Zoet from PSV Eindhoven.

Greece international Karnezis has 42 caps for his country and was in their 2014 World Cup squad. he played 34 times last season for Udinese. He has also been discussed by Watford and Crystal Palace.
