According to reports from The Independent, Newcastle United and Watford are battling it out to sign Angers attacker Nicolas Pepe.

Angers managed a fine midtable finish following their promotion to Ligue 1 last season and arguably one of the star performers for the French side was attacker Nicolas Pepe.

Due to his exploits, Pepe has been able to attract the interest from many teams this summer and the Independent are claiming that the Premier League duo of Newcastle United and Watford are both interested in securing the services of the 22-year-old.

Angers do not want to part with Pepe anytime soon but it is believed that the French minnows may find it hard to resist bids in the region of around £15million.
