Newcastle and Senegal in dispute over Cisse

Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse may not be allowed to play against Swansea on Saturday amid an emerging row between the club and Senegal. Toon boss Alan Pardew revealed the club informed Senegal that the player was injured and sent off details of the player's medical condition, but have since been told they were not received.

As a result, the Africans are understood to be threatening to invoke FIFA's five-day rule, which would mean Cisse could not play for the Magpies this weekend.

Pardew said: "We have a bit of an issue going on at the moment with the federation.

"We feel we have covered all the bases to give them the information, but they seem not to have received it, so we are in discussions with Senegal and the FA about his availability for Saturday."
