Newcastle Jets' Danish striker Jesper Hakansson is almost certain to leave the club. The 27-year old has been struck down with the debilitating osteitis pubis and has not featured for the Jets since early December.
"Through his agent [John Grimaud] he has told us there is an opportunity for him to leave," van Egmond told The Herald.
"Obviously there would have to be an agreement between the club and the player to mutually terminate.
"That is something the club and player would have to work through.
"At this stage Jesper does not appear in my plans for Asia because he has osteo (sic) pubis.
"One minute he is able to train, the next he is not.
"We need to establish through the medical staff the exact diagnosis of the injury."
