Newcastle United are in advanced talks with Bournemouth regarding the transfer of Matt Ritchie.

Multiple reports, including from Sky Sports, suggest that the Magpies and Cherries are locked in discussions over a fee for the 26-year-old winger.

Bournemouth value the Scotland international at around £12million but an agreement must be made before the deal goes ahead.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez sees Ritchie as the perfect replacement for Andros Townsend who is set to join Crystal Palace.

Ritchie, who is contracted with Bournemouth until 2018, has been with the south coast club since arriving from Swindon Town in 2013.
