Newcastle aim to trump West Brom for Wigan playmaker Koumas

Newcastle United have moved to trump West Brom for Wigan Athletic midfielder Jason Koumas.

The Sun says the Welsh midfielder has been told he can leave Wigan on loan and former club Albion want him back.

But Toon boss Chris Hughton is also keen on Koumas, 30, to boost their Championship title challenge.
