Newcastle United remain in the frame for Wigan Athletic winger Charles N'Zogbia.

The Evening Chronicle says it is understood United are still in the hunt for N'Zogbia.

Sources close to the midfielder claim Sunderland are struggling to put together a package to attract the Frenchman to Wearside and N'Zogbia is still holding out for a return to the black-and-whites.

Aston Villa have also been linked with the Frenchman this week.
