Newcastle United are pushing to close a deal for French teen Nathan Dekoke.

The Daily Star Sunday says Fulham were also after the St Etienne defender, 17, but Dekoke is believed to have told Toon he wants a move to St James' Park.

Newcastle have offered the player a four-year deal and are said to have reached a verbal agreement with the player's agent.
